A featured speaker at the 2013 National Conference for Media Reform, Dylan Kelley graduated from college with a triple major in photography, documentary studies and media activism. He is a photographer and journalist focusing on emerging struggles, crises and communities in contemporary America. Covering subjects like rural general stores, special education classrooms, natural disaster relief, grassroots movements and hitchhiking, Kelley spends thousands of hours with his subjects, attempting to uncover and explore the human stories of poverty, anger, and uncertainty.

 

Previous projects include photographing workers at small general store in rural Vermont over a period of two years as business slowly declined, hitchhiking across the United States to document the culture of American gypsies and traveling 15,000 miles to chronicle the pinnacle summer of the Occupy movement and related movements as they swept across America.
